b j bennett Junior Member Registered: July 2008	An oblique view aerial reconnaissance photograph of the Japanese world war two airdrome at Gasmata in West New Britain Province. The view is from east to west and Thilenius Harbour and Gasmata Island can be seen. The pre-war european settlement was on Gasmata Island but after the war a patrol post and other facilities were established beside the airdrome. A number of wartime japanese aircraft wrecks can still be seen in the vicinity of the airdrome.
